Godrej Company Limited has indicated its interest to set up a manufacturing unit in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh with an investment of Rs 400 crore.
The company proposes to manufacture medicinal oils, pesticides and soaps and related inputs at the proposed plant.
A team headed by the CEO of Godrej Company, Anil Sen Mathur and Vice-President K.M.Vinod Kumar and others called on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and discussed about the proposed plant. The Government assured all necessary support for the project.
According to a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office, the diversified Godrej Company has also indicated that the manufacturing plant would provide employment to local people depending upon the skill sets.
The company management also agreed to work with the Andhra Pradesh Government in skill upgradation initiative of the local people in the areas of carpentry, refrigeration, air-conditioning, painting and other skills. This move is aimed at providing job opportunities to the local youth.
