Govind Rubber Ltd (GRL) plans to set up a new tyre and bicycle manufacturing facility at Dahej in Gujarat at an investment of Rs 750 crore, the company said on Tuesday.
“We are setting up a tyre manufacturing facility at Dahej in Gujarat with a production capacity of 225 tonnes a day. We will invest Rs 750 crore in the said plant,” a company statement said here.
The company envisages 100 per cent growth in bicycle business. The company plans to increase manufacturing capacity of bicycles at its Ludhiana plant and to set up bicycle manufacturing plant at Dahej in near future, Chairman and Managing Director of the company, Vinod M Poddar, said.
The company is engaged in manufacturing of auto tyres, tubes, bicycles and high-end bicycle tyres.
GRL International Ltd, a subsidiary of Govind Rubber, has launched Trax Monarch, an high-end bicycle, for Rs 12,000 and also introduced Trax 360 degree BMX Freestyle Stunt Bike for teenagers and youngsters for Rs 6,500.
GRL International has been importing bicycles from China since 2010 and including the imported stuff, the company sells 28 models of bicycles.
