HNG Float Glass, part of Hindusthan National Glass, plans an investment of Rs 750 crore to set up a second float line at its existing float glass manufacturing plant at Halol, Gujarat.
A memorandum of understanding detailing HNG's expansion plan was inked by the company with the State at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit.
The project is scheduled for completion in 2013-2014. The capacity of this new production line will be 1,000 tonnes a day.
The existing line produces 600 tonnes a day. Mr Mukul Somany, Vice-Chairman and Managing Director, HNG said, “The glass sector is buoyant with downstream growth in demand from the realty, automotive and packaging sectors. This investment will be a significant one and will help boost the company's developmental plans in the float glass segment.”
