Hero Honda Motors, in its new avatar, may drop the name of erstwhile Japanese partner Honda as soon next month. It is likely to be known as ‘Hero MotoCorp Ltd', according to a company filing to the bourses. The Munjals-owned Hero Honda has called an extraordinary general meeting of shareholders on June 17 for the final approval of the change in the company brand name. The EGM will be held in Haridwar, where the company has its third manufacturing plant. This is part of a complete rebranding exercise being undertaking by the company at a reported cost of Rs 175 crore, which is apart from the annual marketing costs.
