Hero Honda to get new brand logo, name, positioning

Just days after announcing the Hero Group's buyout of Honda's 26 per cent stake in the joint venture Hero Honda for Rs 3,842 crore, the two-wheeler maker announced on Thursday that it is going for a complete brand makeover.

Hero Honda has contracted Wolff Olins, an Omnicom Group company, to create a new brand identity. The branding specialist will design fresh brand architecture, including a new name, logo and positioning.

Mr Pawan Munjal, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Hero Honda Motors Ltd, said, “As we pass through this exciting phase in the life of our company - changing for the future while anchoring ourselves to our core values and fundamental principles that have guided us in the past. The new buzzwords at Hero Honda are Creation, Renewal and Re-energising. I am happy to have Wolff Olins partnering with us in this exciting journey into a promising future,” he added.

Mr Charles Wright, Managing Director, Wolff Olins said, “India is a strategic priority for us and for Omnicom as a whole, and therefore this mandate assumes a huge priority for us.”
