Kolkata-based Himadri Chemicals reported a net profit of approximately ₹14 crore for the quarter ending April to June this fiscal (FY-15).
The company had been in red during the corresponding quarter last fiscal; and had then reported a net loss of ₹52 crore.
During the period under review, total income saw an over 15 per cent jump to ₹351 crore as against the ₹304 crore it reported in the year ago period.
Other income – that include miscellaneous income (of ₹10 crore) and foreign exchange gains (of ₹1 crore) – saw a substantial jump to over ₹11 crore.
While chemicals and carbon black continue to be the major chunk of its turnover, power accounts for a small segment of total income.
Both the carbon black & chemical and power verticals reported a profit before tax (PBT) of ₹28 crore and ₹3 crore, respectively for the first quarter of this fiscal.
