JSW Energy has posted a 35 per cent drop in net profit at ₹203 crore (₹311 crore) for the December quarter. Total income dropped nine per cent to ₹2,151crore (₹2,365 crore).
Net generation was also down 15 per cent at 4,034 million units (million units). The drop in generation was primarily due to backdown (instructed to stop feeding the grid) of generating units by distribution licensees and non-availability of schedule for certain generating units, the company said. Fuel cost was up two per cent at ₹1,066 crore, due to increase in the landed cost of fuel. On Thursday, the company scrip closed 1.02 per cent lower on the BSE at ₹43.80.
