JW Marriott Hotels and Resorts has launched its fourth property in India at Bangalore.

JW Marriott Bengaluru has a total of 297 rooms, 13 suites and a presidential suite. The entire cost of the project was Rs 750 crore excluding the price of land. Mumbai-based The Advantage Raheja group has built the hotel and Marriott International has taken the property on management contract.

“At present the Marriott International with 20 properties in India is managing 5,000 rooms, the group is to open additional 1,000 rooms by end of the year,” said Rajeev Menon, Area Vice-President – South Asia for Marriott International.

“Our pipeline of projects has been aggressive for India. We plan to add 47 properties which will see addition of 10,000 rooms by 2016-17,” he added.

Marriott International is banking on F&B operations for additional revenues backed by corporate travel and MICE segment.
