Jaypee Cement's Rs 2,500-crore cement plant near Jaggayyapeta in Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh, will commence production next month.
The plant, with a cement production capacity of five million tonnes a year , will cater mainly to southern markets, Mr Narayan Rao, Senior General Manager – Jaypee Group told newspersons after formally launching the brand in the State here on Thursday.
The Noida-based business conglomerate also is planning to invest Rs 300 crore to Rs 400 crore in ramping up capacity of Andhra Cement's plant in Krishna district.
“Over the next six months, the work to increase its capacity from existing two million tonnes to three million tonnes will commence,” Mr Rao said.
This would make Jaypee Group the largest cement producer in Andhra Pradesh with eight million tonnes capacity, he claimed.
