The board of Amco Batteries Ltd has elected Ms Jayshree Venkatraman to the post of Chairman. Ms Venkatraman, who has been elevated from the post of Vice-Chairman of Amco has held a range of executive positions in the Amalgamations Group company since 1993, according to a press release from the company. She succeeds her father, A. Sivasailam, who passed away on January 12. Ms Venkatraman is also a Director on the Board of Tractors and Farm Equipment Ltd and a whole-time director of TAFE Access Ltd. Tafe Power Source in Maraimalai Nagar, of which she is a Director, has three plants producing batteries for a comprehensive range of applications including automotive, telecommunication, UPS, inverter, and stationary, and the latest version of VRLA batteries. She recently signed a technical collaboration agreement with BB Battery Company of China for producing VRLA batteries.
