KEC International, an RPG Group company, has posted a five per cent dip in net profit at Rs 74 crore for the quarter-ended March 31, 2012. Cost of raw material consumed increased to Rs 1,185 crore (Rs 621 crore). Employee benefit cost too was up at Rs 111 crore (Rs 82 crore). However, net sales rose 33 per cent at Rs 2,069 crore (Rs 1,559 crore). For FY12, net sales was up 30 per cent at Rs 5,815 crore (Rs 4,476 crore), while net profit was marginally higher at Rs 209 crore (Rs 206 crore). Mr Ramesh Chandak, Managing Director, KEC International, said, “We are happy with the good top-line growth which is contributed by increased levels of execution. Our order book gives us good visibility for FY13.” On Thursday, the company scrip closed 2.37 per cent lower at Rs 55.70 on BSE.
