Kalyan Jewellers has acquired a twin-engine Canadian-made Bell 427 helicopter to support its expansion across the country.
This will be the first privately owned helicopter in Kerala, costing approximately Rs 48 crore. The helicopter will reach the company headquarters in Thrissur on October 12 and will begin to fly after the Vijayadashami.
Imported from Canada, the helicopter can fly six passengers besides two pilots and its interiors are designed specifically for conducting short duration meetings.
According to T.S. Kalyanaraman, Chairman, Kalyan Jewellers, the chopper joins the existing fleet of a private jet, an Embraer.
With the helicopter, the management team is expected to make significant savings in time.
