Lupin Ltd has acquired worldwide rights to the Goanna brand and the complete range of premium therapeutic oils, rubs and ointments marketed under the brand for an undisclosed sum.
The transaction was done through Lupin's Australian subsidiary, Generic Health, and the company has worked with Aspen Pharmacare to ensure a smooth transition of ownership, a Lupin note said.
Founded in 1910, the Goanna brand of products treats muscular aches and pains and other conditions such as arthritis, the company said. The heritage brand is being sold by about 83 per cent of the pharmacies in Australia, and will add to the portfolio of prescription and over-the-counter products, the company said.
