Vijay Mallya is expected to face heat from shareholders when the annual general meeting of Mangalore Chemicals and Fertilisers takes place on Thursday. Mallya, chairman of the company, is embroiled in a takeover battle as far as MCF is concerned. On the same day, the AGM of United Breweries will also be held. Legal firms have said that with the wilful defaulter tag, Mallya might lose his chairmanship from all the UB group companies and that none of them will be able to raise any further loans. During the previous AGMs, Mallya hardly faced any opposition from the shareholders as they continued to repose faith in him. But this time, he may have to explain several issues concerning the company’s future to them. One of them could be about the future of the current management of MCF.
