MYK Laticrete, a provider of tile and stone installation solutions, has set up an automated manufacturing unit in Patancheru, near Hyderabad.
A joint venture between Laticrete International, US, and the MYK Group of India, the company offers a range of adhesives, grouts, sealers, sealants and water proofing material.
It has two more production facilities in Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu.
In a press release, the company said a training centre intended to spread awareness among architects, engineers and interior designers on the usage and applications aspects of the new products being developed has also been launched by David Rothberg, Chairman of Laticrete International, US.
Muralidhar Yadama, Managing Director, said that the increasing use and cost of sand and rising labour costs in construction have offered bigger scope for the products of the company. Plans are afoot to expand the nationwide dealer and distributor network.
The company also intends to bring in the latest thin set adhesives, adhesive mortars, load bearing waterproofing membranes and so on, to the Indian market.
