Maruti Suzuki India on Monday launched Celerio Green, the CNG version of Celerio priced at ₹4.68 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
However, the latest version of the Celerio will be available only on the VXi range, which has manual transmission.
Fuel efficiency Powered by the intelligent gas port injection (iGPI) technology, Celerio Green is expected to deliver fuel efficiency of 31.79 km/kg in the CNG mode, the company said.
“Brand Celerio has received overwhelming response from the market. The idea of introducing a bi-fuel CNG variant was to strengthen the brand and offer more fuel choices to the customer,” Manohar Bhat, Vice-President (Marketing), said.
The company has a booking of around 45,000 units as of now, especially for the auto gear shift (over 20,000 bookings), with a waiting period of six-eight months.
iGPI technology With the new Celerio, the company has strengthened its CNG portfolio and offers iGPI technology on six models, including Alto 800, Wagon R, Ertiga, SX4 and Eeco.
The company launched Celerio with the auto gear shift technology during the Auto Expo early this year.
According to sources, the company also plans to launch the diesel version of Celerio soon.
