World's largest tea planter McLeod Russel reported Rs 221.50 crore net profit in the second quarter (July-September) of 2014-15. This was a substantial recovery in the performance over the first quarter of this fiscal.
In the first quarter, it had recorded Rs 32 crore net loss. However, the Q2 net profit was still lower than Rs 245.49 crore of the second quarter of the last financial year.
Net sales at Rs 487.19 crore were also lower than Rs 490.79 crore of Q2 of 2013-14. Revenue from overseas gardens were also down year-on-year at Rs 115.24 crore (Rs 150.41 crore).
