A minor fire broke out in one of the facilities of GVK Bio, a major contract research organisation today. The accident occurred around 2.45 p.m. in the Uppal facility, extended office of one of the divisions of the company.
The company officials informed the Fire Department, which rushed in four fire tenders. Meanwhile, employees were quickly evacuated and nobody sustained injuries, a company spokesperson said.
Fire tenders took about 45 minutes to control the fire. “There has been no harm to the people. GVK Bio follows stringent safety norms at all its facilities and the same are being enhanced”, an official release claimed.
An official safety team is investigating into the cause of the fire that broke out in the backyard of the office.
GVK Bio, part of the GVK Group is into contract research, new molecule discovery and has forged several tie-up with global players.
