Consumer transaction technologies company NCR Corp is to shift its manufacturing to a new facility by the end of this calendar year. The NYSE-listed company will move to Mahindra World City, Chengalpet, close to Chennai.
The new facility, which is more than double the size of the company’s existing facility in Puducherry, is built over an 1.17-lakh square-foot area. The facility is under a new single roof design structure that will allow NCR to improve operational efficiency, the company said in a statement.
This is strategically located and in close proximity to suppliers, customers and ports and airports that will help to improve operational efficiency and enable faster delivery of innovative products to the market.
NCR will continue to manufacture financial solutions such as ATMs, while also expanding to manufacture technologies for retail and hospitality industries.
“Owing to the enormous talent pool in India, its strategic location and the additional capacity of this new facility, NCR will be in a great position to introduce innovative omni-channel technologies to give today’s time-compressed consumers the freedom to determine not just what services they wish to consume, but exactly how they wish to consume them,” said, Robert Visintainer, vice president, NCR Global Manufacturing.
