Nakoda Textiles, a Surat-based company manufacturing polyester filament yarn saw a 60 per cent increase in its revenue from Rs 1,338.89 crore in the calendar year 2010 to Rs 2,138.70 crore in 2011.
Net profit for 2011 grew 49 per cent to Rs 49.42 crore (Rs 33.15 crore). However, net profit margin for the year shed 17 basis points from 2.48 per cent of revenue in 2010 to 2.31 of revenue in 2011.
This was mainly on account of a 120 per cent increase in raw material costs from Rs 471 crore in 2010 to Rs 1,039 crore in 2011. Employee costs also rose 55 per cent from Rs 430 crore in 2010 to Rs 666 crore in 2011.
