Ludhiana based Suncross Bikes today rolled out its new range of Raleigh—UK brand of bicycles. The company plans to sell 45,000 to 50,000 units in Indian market.

Suncross, which is the licencee for 125-year-old UK based iconic brand ‘Raleigh’, launched six models of ’AT-Series’ bikes, said company’s CEO Rajesh Kalra.

“We plan to sell 45,000-50,000 units of Raleigh brand of bicycles in India in current year,” Kalra said adding that the company had been able to sell 15,000 bikes in year 2012 alone.

“The demand for premium cycles with price range over Rs 8,000 is on the increase in India and the market for such bikes is estimated at 5 lakh units in India and it is growing at 25 per cent per annum,” he said.

Suncross tied up with the Raleigh last year for selling and designing the bikes in Indian market.

Suncross is also selling US brand Rockmachine and Taiwanese brand Upland bikes in Indian market.

“Overall, we are targeting to sell over one lakh bicycles in domestic market in 2013 as compared to 80,000 units sold last year,” he said.

The company sells hard tail MTB’s, full suspension bikes, hybrid bikes, DTB’s, and trekking bikes.
