Nissan appoints Ishida as India chief

Mr Takayuki Ishida has been appointed as the Managing Director of Nissan Motor India and will take charge from the next financial year, said a release from the company.

He is currently General Manager for the India Department at Nissan Motor Company in Japan.

Besides the appointment of Mr Ishida, the company has made other changes to its senior management team in India. All the India-related appointments will be effective from April 1, said the release.

Mr Toshihiko Sano, who is currently General Manager - Vehicle Production Engineering with Nissan Motor in Japan, has been promoted to Managing Director, Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt Ltd (RNAIPL).

“One of his responsibilities at RNAIPL will be to manage the continued development of the Chennai plant, which recently doubled its production capacity to 400,000 units per year,” said the news release.

Mr Trevor Mann has been appointed Senior Vice-President of Global Supply chain Management (SCM) and Operating Committee for the Africa, Middle East and India region.

He is currently the SVP of Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Production Engineering and Purchasing for Europe in Nissan International S.A, said the news release.

Mr Toru Hasegawa has been promoted to the position of Corporate Vice-President, Africa, Middle East and India (AMI), and will report to Mr Mann.

As CVP for the AMI region, Mr Hasegawa will be responsible for the overall performance of all the consolidated companies within the region, said the release.
