Panasonic on Wednesday entered into the water purifier category, and created a new category with the launch of air purifiers. Initially, both the products will be imported from Japan.
The water purifier, launched under Panasonic Blue Water brand, is priced between Rs 7,990 and Rs 25,490. The product, to be initially sold in Delhi-NCR, will be made available in Andhra Pradesh next and across India subsequently. “India has a Rs 1,800-crore organised water purifier market, growing at 24 per cent annually. The people are increasingly becoming health conscious and hence this move,” said Manish Sharma, MD, (Global Consumer Marketing Sector), Panasonic India. The purifier converts acid water into alkaline water.
