Power Grid Corporation Ltd has reported a 9.24 per cent increase in its net profit for the first quarter of fiscal 2014-15 on the back of higher income from operations. The company’s net profit for the quarter stood at ₹1,136.51 crore against ₹1,040.34 crore in the same quarter last year.
During the quarter, the company’s net sales increased 10.72 per cent to ₹3,941.85 crore from ₹3,559.96 crore in the same quarter last year.
PowerGrid announced its results late on Monday night. At 1.29 pm on Tuesday, the company’s shares were trading 0.15 per cent lower on the BSE at ₹131.85.
