Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) gave financial assistance to ten students of the peripheral villages of the steel city pursuing professional courses under the Professional Scholarship scheme of the CSR Department.
RSP’s CEO G S Prasad presented a cheque of Rs 25,000 to each student as the last and final instalment of the scholarship in a function organised here on April 19.
With this final instalment these students have so far received Rs 1 lakh each to pursue professional courses, RSP sources said on Sunday.
Prasad also presented a financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to the Missionaries of Charity, Rourkela on the occasion. Sisters from the charitable organisation received the cheques and thanked RSP for this noble gesture.
This assistance was provided under the Corporate Social Responsibility initiative of RSP.
