Ramco Cements’ net profit has multiplied over four times during the second quarter, indicating early signs of recovery from the lows during the comparable quarter last year. The company reported a net profit of ₹89.71 crore (₹18.27 crore) on a total income of ₹951.43 crore (₹920.71 crore). The company is setting up a one-million-tonne-a-year grinding unit at Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh at ₹475 crore. The project, to be commissioned in March 2015, will benefit from infrastructure activities expected after bifurcation.
