The British luxury car maker Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is celebrating record September sales with retail figures up 13 per cent this year over the same period last year. Land Rover has reported its best September sales with 10,769 vehicles registered, up 11 per cent from the same month last year. The firm reported continued strong sales of Land Rover's flagship vehicle, the all-new Range Rover, which was up 24 per cent compared with the same period last year. However, JLR owners, Tata Motors' September 2013 sales figures showed a 33.44 per cent decline, with the Indian major selling a total of 50,427 units in September against 75,773 units in September 2012. In the case of its UK offering, the company has said its Range Rover Evoque continues to be successful. The company said the new Range Rover Sport has made a strong start with sales of 1,309 vehicles in what is only the second month of customer deliveries. A statement from the company added that monthly retail figures for Land Rover's newest model are set to increase in line with the production ramp up. In the case of the Land Rover Freelander, the company said sales were up 13 per cent in September. Sales of Jaguar too, jumped 19 per cent year to date, with a year-on-year increase across its model range of seven per cent, the statement added.
