The Deputy Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of Renault’s Indian operations, Mr Sudhir Rao, has decided to quit.
A company spokesperson said that Mr Rao is quitting the company, but did not comment on the reason for his quitting and future plans.
Mr Rao was one of the key persons for French auto major’s formal entry into India after it decided to end its long association with the Indian auto giant Mahindra Group.
He had also played a major role in setting up the firm’s Rs 4,500-crore joint venture plant at Oragadam near here.
Mr Rao also played a crucial role in positioning the auto maker in Indian automobile industry, where in 2011 the company witnessed the formal launch of its global flagship premium sedan ‘Fluence’. Renault also launched its SUV Koleos last year.
