Royal Orchid Hotels Ltd said its consolidated profit after tax grew 75 per cent to Rs 12.22 crore year-on-year (Rs 6.98 crore) for the year ended March 31, 2011. Revenue grew 27 per cent to Rs 154.74 crore (Rs 121.86 crore a year ago). Mr Chender Baljee, Chairman & Managing Director, said, “Business across our hotels has shown improvement during the financial year 2011. We expect the trend to continue. With our new hotel projects in strategic location and progressing well as planned, we hope to achieve substantial growth in revenue and profit in the current financial year.” By the end of this fiscal year, “We will have an addition of 840 keys [rooms] to our current 1,622,” the company said. Seven new properties are on the anvil this year. The Hyderabad hotel will be opened in a couple of months. During January-March, it opened new hotels at Shimoga, Mussoorie and Jaipur and totally operates 18 hotels.
