Confectioner Sampre Nutritions Ltd is set to expand its manufacturing base located near Hyderabad. It is planning to take up direct marketing of its own branded products through a venture with a UK-based company.

Mr B.K. Gurbani, Chairman of Sampre, said that the company, a contract manufacturer for some of the top MNCs such as Procter & Gamble, Kraft (Cadbury’s India), Perfetti Van Melle among other leading companies, has finalised plans to expand manufacturing facility near Hyderabad with an outlay of Rs 9 crore.

“The company has always been a manufacturer of choice for some of the top brands. Having received quality certifications, we are now taking up this expansion to get into direct marketing of products under our own brand in the country,” he said.

Sampre Nutritions has received the International Quality award from Mr Jose E. Pritto, President, Business Initiative Directions (BID), at the International Quality Summit held in New York. “This vindicates the quality standards we maintain at the manufacturing plant,” he said.

Established in 1995, the company makes complete range of confectionery — eclairs, candies, toffees, powder and centre-filled products. The company closed last year with revenues of Rs 24 crore and expects to double this next year, he said.
