Schneider Electric India has announced the launch of its switches, sockets and distribution systems for the home and small and medium business (SMB) market segments in the State.
The retail initiative kicked off with the launch of ZENcelo and Vivace range of switches and the NeoBreak distribution systems in Kochi.
This will be followed by similar launches in Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode, a company spokesperson said.
This represents Schneider Electric's formal entry into the retail sector covering the home and SMB market segments, and is part of a national retail rollout that will be completed by 2012.
According to Mr Olivier Blum, Managing Director, Schneider Electric India, a high-level of education and awareness in the State has led to a relatively large customer base that expects world class quality, service and aesthetics at an affordable price. The distribution channel is highly evolved in the State, where most distributors and stockists have direct access to markets and also to a large base of electricians and contractors.
Keeping this evolved base of partners in mind, Schneider is introducing, for the first time in the State, a hand-held device that will make ordering faster and simpler, leading to better inventory management and optimal use of warehousing space.
Mr Balaji Lenka, Vice President-Retail Channel Sales, Schneider, said this is an innovation that was developed specifically for retailers, who have traditionally often had to deal with over or under-stocking of products. This application will allow real-time inventory tracking and improved order management and therefore enable significant cost savings for our retailers going forward.
