Sony India raises marketing spend as it looks to improve Puja sales

Sony India is targeting sales of Rs 228 crore during the Durga Puja period (August and September) this year.

Marketing budgets too have been increased to Rs 25 crore, while the number of distribution outlets has increased to 1150 from 850, the company said in a release.

According Sunil Nayyar, Head, Sales, Sony India, sales during the Durga Puja period contribute around 35 per cent to its total sales from the region.

“We have expanded our product portfolio with many innovative products, including the 4k BRAVIA range, Xperia smartphones, DTH theatre systems, and new camera models,” he was quoted as per a statement issued by the company.
