The kraft paper manufacturer Sree Sakthi Paper Mills Ltd has completed its expansion-cum-modernisation programme involving an investment of around Rs 30 crore.

The company's board has recorded the commissioning of boiler and turbine project at its meeting on March 30.

As part of the expansion project, the Kochi-based company commissioned a Krima-dispersing unit, which will help make spec-free paper for high-end customers.

The company also installed a 22-TPH (tonnes per hour) high-pressure boiler for supplying steam to its paper making unit, besides commissioning a 2 MW turbine for captive power consumption.

Mr A. Padmanabhan, whole time director, said that modernisation has enhanced the company's paper production capacity by 55 tonnes a day or 18,150 tonnes annually. The commissioning of the power generation plant will not only reduce the cost of paper production but will help the company tide over the crisis if there is shortage of power in future.

The benefits of the modernisation-cum-expansion will accrue in the coming quarters, he said, adding that it would enable the company to achieve more profits by enhancing the volume, besides expanding the customer base.

The product development wing has also developed technology to produce high BF low gsm papers, high RCT papers and semi extensible kraft. These products are accepted all over the country, he added

The company is offering its customers 24-hour testing lab on the factory premises (any paper, any brand), free consultancy in box designing and customer care centre to look into customers' problems with any paper/box manufacturing aspects at free of cost.
