Lighting company Surya Roshini on Monday said it plans to enter the home appliances segment, and will make water heaters, dry irons, steam irons and mixer grinders.
The company already makes fans. It expects to achieve a target of ₹100 crore from home appliance sales in the next two years. In a statement, Managing Director Raju Bista said: “Surya products enjoy excellent patronage from retailers and customers.
The company is confident that its two lakh-strong retailer network will promote appliances with the same enthusiasm as they have done for lighting and fans.” The company hopes to offer “technologically superior features, attractive designs and affordability” as key differentiators. “The company is confident that, in no time, this segment will also achieve the same level of success as it has in fans,” Bista added.
The company has two lakh partners across India and exports products to 44 countries worldwide.
