Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has joined the Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC), a US-based organisation that seeks to accelerate the integration of physical machinery with networked sensors and software.
The IIC membership allows the country’s largest software exporter the opportunity to co-ordinate industry-wide efforts in building reference architecture and technology testbeds around the Internet of Things (IoT) domain, as per a news statement.
“Large scale adoption of IoT systems requires close collaboration between technology companies, governments, universities and industry. At TCS, we engage with several IoT stakeholders through our co-innovation network,” Ananth Krishnan, Chief Technology Officer of TCS said in a communication to the stock exchanges.
Shares of TCS were up by 3.4 per cent to close at Rs 2443.15 on the Bombay Stock Exchange today.
