TI Cycles presses the pedal at aluminium bikes facility

TI Cycles has begun manufacturing at its new Rs 6-crore aluminium bicycle facility in Ambattur, Chennai. Production is being ramped up to reach full utilisation, said a company release. The facility manufactures the 2012 range of Montra performance bicycles. The new range has five variants — Montra Techno, Montra Country, Montra Rock, Montra JazzA and Montra Blues. It was launched by brand ambassador Karun Chandok. Targeted at the affluent buyer, these bicycles come in alloy, titanium and carbon frames. Rajesh Mani, General Manager, Marketing, TI Cycles of India, said: “Based on the feedback on the initial range, the 2012 range has improved specs, graphics and components. Montra would capture close to 15 per cent of the performance bikes market in its second year of operation.”
