Strong growth in two-wheeler sales and exports contributed to 28 per cent rise in TVS Motor’s net profit in the first quarter of the current fiscal.
The company reported a net profit of ₹72.32 crore (₹51.87 crore) on a total income of ₹2,305.39 crore (₹1,760.18 crore).
According to a press release, total two-wheeler sales grew 22 per cent to 5.59 lakh units (4.60 lakh units).
Motorcycle sales grew 23 per cent to 2.28 lakh units (1.85 lakh units); and scooter sales rose 55 per cent to 1.52 lakh units (98,000 units).
Two and three-wheeler exports registered a growth of 47 per cent to 97,000 units (66,000).
Three-wheeler sales grew 60 per cent to 25,000 units (15,600 units).
On Thursday, the company’s shares closed 6 per cent lower at ₹158.70 on the BSE against the previous close of ₹169.45.
