Two-wheeler maker TVS Motor Company today reported a 14.29 per cent jump in total vehicle sales during July, 2011, to 1,89,962 units.
The company sold 1,66,214 units in the corresponding month last year, TVS Motor Company said in a statement.
The company’s two-wheeler sales grew by 14.45 per cent last month to 1,86,672 units from 1,63,106 units in the year-ago period, it added.
Scooter sales increased by 22.24 per cent to 49,333 units in July, 2011, from 40,357 units in the same month of 2010.
Motorcycle sales stood at 70,170 units, compared with 61,051 units in the corresponding year-ago period, up 14.94 per cent.
In July, domestic two-wheeler sales of the company registered a growth of 12.10 per cent to 1,60,348 units from 1,43,039 units in July, 2010.
Three-wheeler sales of the company went up by 5.86 per cent last month to 3,290 units from 3,108 units in the same month of 2010, the statement said.
Exports increased by 34.17 per cent to 28,542 units from 21,273 units in the same month of the previous year, it added.
