Tata Motors has reported an 18.80 per cent increase in total vehicle sales during February to 92,119 units against 77,543 units in the same month last year.
According to a company statement, total passenger vehicle sales in the domestic market stood at 34,832 units, up 9.16 per cent from 31,909 units in the same month last year.
Sales of the company’s Nano small car stood at 9,217 units compared with 8,262 units, translating into an increase of 11.56 per cent. The ‘Indica’ range reported sales of 10,424 units (10,044 units), up 3.78 per cent.
However, the ‘Indigo’ family recorded sales of 8,595 units, down 4.14 per cent from 8,966 units in the same month last year. Sales of the ‘Sumo’, ‘Safari’ and ‘Aria’ rose 42.25 per cent to 6,596 units from 4,637 units.
In the commercial vehicles segment, the company sold 51,827 units in the domestic market during the month under review compared with 41,130 units in the corresponding period last year, an increase of 26.01 per cent.
Light commercial vehicle sales in February amounted to 32,540 units, a growth of 38.48 per cent over 23,498 units in the same month last year. Medium and heavy commercial vehicle sales stood at 19,332 units (17,632 units), a growth of 9.64 per cent.
Exports increased by 20.23 per cent to 5,415 units from 4,504 units, the statement added.
