Tata Motors has launched a new range of trucks in the light and intermediate commercial vehicle segments which it expects will see a speedy revival of demand.
New platformThe Ultra range launched on Thursday will span five-tonne to 15-tonne trucks and will be the new platform on which Tata will position its offerings in this range, according to Ravindra Pisharody, Executive Director, Commercial Vehicles Business Unit.
Addressing reporters at the launch of the Ultra 812 and Ultra 912 trucks (8- and 10-tonne), he said the light and intermediate vehicle segment was traditionally the fastest growing at about 12-15 per cent annually.
Except for the two low phases in the last decade, the segment has grown 10 per cent annually, Pisharody said.
The trucks launched on Thursday are priced ₹10.53 lakh and ₹10.94 lakh.
FeaturesThe Ultra range will be a modern offering with focus on aesthetics and utility.
The driver cabin will offer adjustable seats and steering.
The range will feature front disc brakes, radial tyres and dashboard mounted gear shift.
