Tata Power arm’s community initiative

Coastal Gujarat Power Ltd (CGPL), a 100 per cent subsidiary of Tata Power developing the 4,000-MW Mundra Ultra Mega Power Plant, provided free healthcare treatment to the Tragadi bunder fishermen community at Mundra. This initiative was organised under the Arogya programme implemented by CGPL. The company is a special purpose vehicle formed for setting up and operating the 4,000-MW Mundra UMPP. CGPL has signed a Power Purchase Agreement with seven procurers from five States, that is Gujarat, Maharashtra, Haryana, Rajasthan and Punjab for the sale of contracted capacity. Commenting on the initiative, K.K. Sharma, Chief, Mundra Project, said: “It is our endeavour to improve the quality of life of our communities through such health camps and we are proud to drive such initiatives for their well-being”.
