Tata Sky has launched ‘Video on Demand’ service for its Tata Sky+ HD subscribers. The Do-it-Yourself (DIY)-Video on Demand has 600 easy-to-learn videos, which the company plans to increase to about 1,000 by next year. Subscribers will be charged Rs 5 for a video. The VoD-DIY videos feature genres including craft, musical instruments, health and fitness. Vikram Mehra, Chief Marketing Officer, Tata Sky said, “Based on consumer research, one key insight that came out was that given the busy lives that most people lead nowadays, there was not enough time for them to pursue any personal interests and hobbies. We decided to introduce the VoD-DIY service to meet this consumer need.” He said the content was highly curated and vetted by its internal content team.
