Shasun Pharmaceuticals has temporarily suspended operations at its Cuddalore plant due to the impact of the cyclonic storm Thane.
According to Mr Abhaya Kumar, Managing Director, production stoppage could last for a few days with a revenue loss of Rs 1.5 crore each day.
The company said it is assessing the extent of damage and is doing the needful to resume operations at the earliest.
However, operations at Shasun's plant in Puducherry, which was also impacted by Thane, have not stopped. There is a power outage in Puducherry and the plant is running on back-up power.
