Tree House net up 32% on expansion

Tree House Education and Accessories, which runs pre-schools, reported a 32 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 8 crore in the December quarter. Revenue grew 34 per cent to Rs 30 crore. Operation profit (EBITDA) was up 42 per cent at Rs 18 crore.

Tree House had a net addition of 40 pre-schools in the quarter. It currently has 349 centres across 38 cities. Of this, 278 are self-operated centres. Rajesh Bhatia, Managing Director, said with the general pick-up in the overall economy, there is a good up tick in admissions for the next academic year 2013-14. Shares of Tree House were three per cent up at Rs 241 on Friday.
