Trent Hypermart, that operates Star Bazaar hypermarkets, plans to launch 3 more outlets by the end of 2012 at an investment of around Rs 30 crore. This will take the number of Star Bazaar outlets to 18. “We will invest about Rs 8-10 crore per outlet,” said Jamshed Daboo, CEO of Trent Hypermart. He, however, did not wish to disclose the names of locations, where they plan to have their new outlets. Besides, the Tata Group-promoted retail chain is playing big on the health card. It will be launching a separate segment in its outlets called ‘Healthy Choices’, which will have food products from Britannia, Tropicana, 24 Letters, Tetley, Borges, Dabur and McVities among other international and domestic brands. It will also launch its own private labels soon under the healthy range. “People have become very health conscious these days and the health food segment is growing at 15 per cent annually. We get customer queries for healthy food products. So we decided to have a separate segment that will enable customers to search for their health brand in one place,” Daboo said.
