Triumph Motorcycles India Pvt. Ltd unveiled the Daytona 675 at 12th Auto Expo at Greater Noida. The Daytona 675 has been priced at ₹10.15 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), and will be the second super-sport motorcycle from the manufacturer, the other being the Daytona 675R. Vimal Sumbly, Managing Director, Triumph Motorcycles India Pvt. Ltd. said, “Customer feedback along with the positive responses we received for the Daytona 675R have led to the announcement of the Daytona 675 variant with an extremely competitive pricing. With this Triumph Motorcycles will offer two super sports variants for the brand’s enthusiasts.”
The three-cylinder, 675cc super-sport motorcycle has been designed for both road and track usage, and has a maximum power output of 131PS @ 12,500rpm and a peak torque of 74NM @ 11900rpm.
Paul Stroud, Director Sales & Marketing (Global), Triumph Motorcycles Pvt. Ltd. said, “India is an exceptionally exciting market for us and the premium motorcycle segment in the country is seeing tremendous growth.”
Triumph had previously launched in India 11 motorcycles, such as the Bonneville, Rocket III, Tiger and Speed Triple, across 5 model families including classic, cruiser, super sports, roadsters and adventure segments. According to Stroud, Triumph is already enjoying a great response from the Indian market, and over 100 sold orders have been taken since the launch. He added that the company is looking at a target of 500 motorcycles in first 6 months, 1000 by year-end and 1500 by mid 2015.
Triumph also announced the commencement of bookings in Delhi and Chennai at the Auto Expo 2014.
