RINL has commissioned the 67.5 MW turbo generator put up by BHEL at its steel plant at an official function in Visakhapatnam. The generator was synchronised to the grid in the presence of AP Transco officials. The total cost of the plant is around Rs 343 crore. The commissioning of the turbo generator 5 will enable the steel plant to meet part of its captive need including emergency requirement of the expansion plant. Umesh Chandra, Director(Operations), P.C. Mohapatra, Director(Projects) and R. Ranjan, ED(Works), senior officials of RINL, BHEL officials and the consultant M.N. Dastur & Company participated in the function, a press release said.
