United Breweries Ltd posted a 54 per cent higher net profit for Q4 year on year at Rs 40 crore and 47 per cent higher sales turnover at Rs 839.5 crore.
For the full fiscal year, net profit grew 73 per cent to Rs 167 crore and net sales 41 per cent y-o-y, to touch Rs 2,778 crore (Rs 1,973 crore)
The board approved a dividend of Rs 3 per cumulative redeemable preference share amounting to Rs 8.61 crore (including dividend distribution tax) for the year ended March 31, 2011 to Scottish & Newcastle India Ltd.
The company's scrip fell marginally to close at Rs 465.35 a share on Wednesday.
A company release said its market share peaked at 56 per cent (51 per cent) and volume grew 23 per cent at the highest rate in four years. The merger of Associated Breweries and Distilleries Ltd, Millennium Alcobev and Empee into UBL has been completed and the schemes of MBIL, UMBL, UB Nizam, UB Ajanta and Chennai Breweries were on schedule.
