United Spirits Ltd has posted a 28 per cent rise (year-on-year) in fourth quarter revenues to Rs 1,617 crore. Net profit for the quarter rose 37 per cent to Rs 77.4 crore.
Adjusting for the incorporation of the turnover of Balaji Distilleries Ltd in the quarter, the effective revenue growth would be 19 per cent, on a volume growth of 12 per cent.
Spirit costs during the quarter were down 1.5 per cent over the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal – however, they were up 5 per cent over Q3, said the company. These costs are expected to come down going forward.
For the year ended March 31, 2011, the company has posted a 7 per cent rise (y-o-y) in net profit at Rs 403 crore, while total income for the year rose 29 per cent to Rs 6.402 crore.
