The net profit of Chennai-based VA Tech Wabag has jumped by about a third in the fourth quarter of 2011-12 compared with the corresponding quarter previously. The company has recommended a dividend of Rs 6 an equity share of face value of Rs 2. The multinational player in water and waste water management has reported a standalone profit after tax of Rs 50 crore on an income of Rs 520.40 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2012. During the corresponding period in the previous year, the company reported a net profit Rs 39.10 crore on a revenue of Rs 356.3 crore. Inflow of fresh orders during the year was Rs 1,862 crore taking the order backlog to Rs 3,731 crore. About two-thirds of the order relate to India projects and the rest to its overseas subsidiaries.
